UKHSA and its predecessor organisations have conducted over 150 research and surveillance studies to better understand SARS-CoV-2 virus and its transmission. We have published or submitted over 300 new research papers, commentaries and editorials on all aspects of the virus, the illness it causes and how to mitigate the impact of the pandemic.
Public Health Transformation
From the 1st October 2021, PHE has transferred its health protection functions into the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA). During the first phase of transition into the UKHSA, staff details and publications relate to all areas of activity within PHE's Health Protection scope, with a gradual incorporation of research related information from NHS Test and Trace, including the Joint Biosecurity Centre.
