Abstract

Seven complexing agents of varying degrees of lipophilicity (as judged by their solubility in water, methanol and chloroform) have been examined for ability to remove plutonium from the liver of hamsters. Although these complexing agents can complex plutonium in vitro they exhibit no superiority over diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA) in the removal of plutonium deposited in the liver.
